Motor Vehicle Act
Motor Vehicle Act was passed in the year 1988 by Parliament. The act regulates and covers all the aspects of road transport vehicles. The Motor Vehicle Law consists of addressing traffic violations while driving a vehicle that is speeding, careless driving, or driving under a suspended license. Motor Vehicles (Amendment) Bill was introduced in Lok Sabha on 15th July 2019.
Vehicle drivers are imposed with stiffer penalties so that it will bring more discipline and stick to follow the rules. Road safety and reducing the number of accidents are the main goals of the government.
List of penalties traffic rules violators:
Jumping traffic light, using a mobile phone
Disobedience of orders of authorities
Unauthorized use of vehicles without a license
Driving without license
Driving despite disqualification
Over speeding
Drunken driving
Not using Helmets
Above are some of the penalties for disobeying the rules.

Not providing a way for emergency vehicles
Oversize vehicles
Aggregators (violations of licensing conditions)
Offenses by Juveniles
